In April of 1924, you’re in Tangier, Morocco. It’s a lively and vital place, and yet you’re ready to take the next ship out of port. But foreigners are stranded and the city is on edge. Rumors circulating among the locals, expatriates, and authorities cause your hackles to rise as you hear disturbing details about a ritual sacrifice. To what end? And it shouldn’t be your problem, but it is, because until the prefect has a culprit in hand, foreigners are not only stuck, but they’re also suspects.

In this two-page one-shot adventure in easy-to-absorb pamphlet format, playable in a single session by two or more players, investigators must discover the cause behind a curiously bloodless massacre, confront the degraded depths of a fanatical cult, and survive abhorrent and monstrous encounters that lead to madness and death.

This adventure includes 2 pages of scenario information with locations, scenes, NPCs, and clues to use at the Keeper’s discretion. This condensed format is best used by Keepers who have run Call of Cthulhu scenarios before and who need a foundation for their own embellishments.

Trigger warnings: Horror, Insanity, Religion, Violence

The adventure begins during a dry, hot evening in Tangier in 1924 when the investigators have been rounded up for questioning by the local authorities. A tense and threatening interrogation reveals strange and sinister happenings.

The scenario encompasses six scenes:

  • Chapter 2: The Caves of Hercules
  • Chapter 3: Police File Room
  • Chapter 4: Police Cells
  • Chapter 5: Flic’s Place
  • Chapter 6: Gara Prison

Acknowledgements

Some players were harmed in the making of this adventure, or so they tell me. They got better. As always, thanks to them.

This is a great scenario to connect to other adventures such as The Necropolis from Chaosium or The Mummy of Pemberley Grange from Type40.
